Methods for tracking fuel consumption

Методи за отчитане на разхода на гориво

Because of the enormous interest about our fuel-management possibilities, we decided to publish detailed information on different techniques that we apply. We try to give an overview for everyone who is interested in this feature, so they can choose the method that matches their specific needs best.

Option 1 - Direct connection with the on-board computer

Using this method, the GPS tracking device is connected to the on-board computer of the vehicle during installation. This requires an additional device, that must be purchased as an add-on, as well as a vehicle that has an on-board computer (mostly vehicles manufactured after 2004).

Option 2 - Connection to the vehicle's own fuel sensor

In this case we use the built-in fuel sensor of the vehicle. This is only possible with advanced functionality trackers. We measure only the fuel level and the accuracy depends highly on the built-in sensor.

Disadvantages

Option 3 - Installation of a high-sensitive external fuel sensor

The vehicle is equipped with an additional measurement sensor in the fuel tank. The installation in this case is invasive and cannot be reversed - a hole in the fuel tank is drilled and the installation takes several hours. The procedure is carried out through a partner of ours and requires special equipment. Through this additional sensor, a very high measurement accuracy is achieved (up to 1 milimeter of the fuel level).
